About Carrie
Hi! I’m Carrie, and I’m a mom of 3, wife and educator. In 2016, my husband and I decided we were sick and tired of not having enough money to make it through the month.
After realizing we had made a lot of really bad choices with our money for 20 years, we decided it was time for a change…a BIG one. We cut up our credit cards and started on our debt free journey.
I’ve learned a lot along the way, and we aren’t done yet, because we still have our kids’ college to fund and a mortgage.
I’d like to be a part of your journey to controlling your money. When you buy one of my products, I’ll be cheering you on. I’d love for you to send me a message about your journey!

My Philosophy

Make it Fun
I approach managing and saving money the same way taught school…make it fun! It is proven that if you do something that is enjoyable or do it in a fun way, you will learn more and be more motivated to continue.
So, I always use fun items, like savings challenges or aesthetically pleasing notebooks to keep track of my finances.
Stay Intentional
Being intentional is key to success. A lot of people use the word intentional, but what it really means is to just pay attention. If you pay attention to where you are spending your money, you can
Be Patient With Yourself
There is no finish line with taking control of your money. Making choices that are best for you each day is a win, and it gets easier as you develop money saving habits.
If you struggle one day with staying on budget or saving back the money you planned to, give yourself grace. It will get easier, and you will reap the rewards of sticking it out.

Mischa Casteel
Project Manager
My mom is a retired teacher, who put her laminating and organizing skills to work behind the scenes for Carrie Jay Budgets.
She is a die hard Texas Rangers baseball fan, and plays piano and organ at church each week.
There’s no way we could get all of our orders out each week without her!
